Description
The barn at Cilrath Fach is an early to mid-19th century stable built from limewashed rubble masonry. It features a moderately pitched roof made of corrugated asbestos. The front has a central doorway flanked by windows, with timber lintels and a plank door. There are hopper windows and an unglazed vent above a wooden shutter.
Adjoining the stable is an early to mid-19th century barn that is slightly lower in height. This barn also has limewashed rubble masonry and a moderately pitched roof covered with small quarry slates arranged in diminishing courses. It includes a single storage bay with a threshing floor located at the left end. The front doorway has been enlarged, and there is a split door at the rear, with timber lintels above. The side walls of the storage bay have single ventilation slits.
Additionally, there is a lean-to calf pen attached to the end of the barn, constructed from limewashed rubble and topped with a slate roof. This pen has a plank door offset to the left and an unglazed rectangular window to the right, with timber lintels, although the lintel is missing over the window.
