Description
Grondre House is a 2-storey, 3-bay house with rendered walls and a double-gabled slate roof, located in a valley. To the right side, there are two pairs of stacks with tall barley-twist shafts. The symmetrical east entrance front features a central porch with replaced double doors and a blind loop in the gable. The windows are 12-pane sashes with margin lighting, set under Tudor-Gothic hood moulds. Each gable also has a blind loop.
The south front has tall cross windows on the right and left with marginal glazing, and sash windows in the upper storey that match those on the front. The rear, which is also 3-bay, resembles the front, featuring a replaced door to a central porch, a French door on the lower left, and a cross window on the lower right. In the upper storey, there is a 2-pane sash window on the left in an original opening, along with margin-lit 12-pane sashes in the centre and right.
To the north side is a service block, which includes a single-storey, 2-window wing set back from the main east front. This wing has a replaced door and single over 6-pane sash windows. Behind it is a parallel 2-storey wing that features a single margin-lit 12-pane sash window in a gabled half dormer on the east side. On the west side, which is set back from the rear of the main house, there is a 12-pane margin-lit sash window in the lower storey, a similar window on the upper right, and a 2-pane sash window in the upper centre.
