Description
This is a mid-19th century range of outbuildings located on the west side of the farmyard at Castle Pill Farm. The buildings are constructed from purple rubble stone with grey stone dressings and are topped with a single slate roof. The end sections slightly project, with the southern section serving as a lofted cart-shed featuring quoins, a plinth, and two elliptical-arched cart entries that include keystones. The grey stone voussoirs and jambs accentuate these entries. Above, there are two plain loft windows, and on the southern end, outside steps lead to a loft door framed in grey stone. The northern end of the range is a former barn, which has quoins at the southeast angle, a small door, and a large entry, both featuring grey stone plinths and frames for the ground floor windows, while the upper loft windows are plain. The ground floor is arranged in a nine-bay configuration with the pattern DWWWDWDWD, all of which include keystones. Loft windows are located in bays 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8.
