Description

The barn at Castle Hall Farm is a 19th-century structure built from red rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. It is a single-storey building with a loft and is notably long, positioned at an acute angle at the northwest corner facing the road. The western end features a cart entry with a timber lintel, which has chamfered jambs, and above it is an arched loft door made of stone voussoirs.

The long south front includes, on the left, two depressed-arched cart entries with red brick arches. Following these are a sequence of cambered arched doorways, consisting of two doors and two windows, all featuring eroded red stone voussoirs along with grey stone keys and springers. There are also small windows with similar arched heads.

Additionally, there is a rebuilt concrete block staircase leading to the upper loft door, which is situated under the eaves of the gable. This staircase has an opening that leads to the original doorway behind it. Further along, there are two more small windows, and the right-hand end of the barn has a 20th-century addition that obscures part of the original structure.
