Description

6 High Street is a terraced building dating from the 19th century, featuring painted stucco and a slate roof with close eaves. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a single-window range. The central dormer on the eaves has a catslide roof and a pair of 20th-century casement windows. The front includes a small canted oriel window from the late 19th century, which has a plate glass sash and narrow canted side sashes, along with a thin cornice and a rendered base.

On the ground floor, there is a window to the left with 20th-century plate glass fixed glazing, and a small shop front in the centre and right sections, featuring timber pilasters on each side, a fascia, and a shelf cornice. The centre has recessed double part-glazed doors to the left of the shop window, with one plate glass pane canted into the door and another pane at the front.

The rear, facing Dark Street to the north, is three storeys high and rendered. It has a wide board door flanked by pilasters and topped with a cornice that does not connect to the pilasters. Above the door is an oriel window with 20th-century metal glazing, and the top floor features a horned plate glass sash. The building has close eaves.

The interior has not been inspected, but it includes a segmental arched barrel-vaulted cellar, which may date back to the 16th century and is possibly post-medieval.
