Description
No 1 Bellevue Cottages, also known as Oyster Cottage, is a pair of cottages built in the 19th century. The exterior features unpainted roughcast with a stucco ground floor and a slate roof that has close eaves. The cottages are low, two stories tall, and have a three-window range. Above the ground floor, there are three plate glass sash windows, and a stucco sill band runs over the ground floor.
To the extreme left, there is a door leading to a through passage, with a plate glass sash window to the left of center and a narrow window in the center, both having minimal raised surrounds. There is a blocked door to the right of center and another plate glass sash window to the right, which aligns with the sash window above. Each side of the center window features a blank pointed recess, with the left side rendered and the right side showing an exposed stone eroded chamfered surround. The cottages have a raised plinth, and the doorway at the extreme left, adjacent to No 7, has a white painted raised pier to the right that supports a cemented hood.
