Description

No 8 Bellevue, also known as Hafod y Mor, is a terraced house that pairs with No 9. It features a stucco exterior with a slate double roof and end wall stacks. Together, these two houses create a large three-storey, three-bay structure with a heavy cornice and parapet. The lower two floors have twelve-pane sash windows, while the upper two floors have nine-pane sash windows. The upper windows have stuccoed architraves, the third floor has plain architraves, and the second floor's central window is framed with plain architraves, cornices, and a pediment. The first floor windows have shouldered architraves with cornices. A thick double band runs over the ground floor at the height of the entablature above the paired doorways in the centre. The doorcase is adorned with three pilasters, a frieze, and a moulded cornice. The door reveals are panelled, featuring two-panel doors with overlights. The sash windows on either side of the doorways lack surrounds. The area is enclosed with railings that have spear-headed finials and standards at intervals. The rear of the building is four-storey with three windows, featuring blind panels beneath the parapet, twenty-pane windows on the first and third floors, and sixteen-pane windows on the second and ground floors, along with two large altered openings.
