Description

No 2 Bellevue Cottages, also known as Shellback, is a pair of cottages built with unpainted roughcast and a stucco ground floor, topped by a slate close-eaved roof. The building is low, two stories high, and features a three-window range. There are three plate glass sashes on the upper floor, with a stucco sill band over the ground floor. The entrance, located at the extreme left, leads to a through passage. To the left of the centre, there is a plate glass sash, and a narrow window in the centre, both with minimal raised surrounds. There is a blocked door to the right of the centre and another plate glass sash to the right, which aligns with the sash above. Each side of the centre window has a blank pointed recess, with the left side rendered and the right side showing an exposed stone eroded chamfered surround. The building has a raised plinth. The doorway at the extreme left, adjacent to No 7, features a white painted raised pier to the right that supports a cemented hood. It is noted that the cottages have been much modernised.
