Description

The seafront shelter on The Promenade features neo-classical styling and is constructed from timber with a tiled hipped roof. It is a single-storey, open-sided structure designed in a rectangular H-plan, with paired bays on both sides and a single bay at each end. The painted timber frame is set on a stone base, with fixed glazed panels above and glazed octagonal lights at each corner. Classical pilasters separate each bay, while the end bays are framed by paired pilasters. The shelter includes an entablature with brackets and overhanging eaves, as well as low simple benches within each bay. Additional details include guttering, ridge capping, and plain ridge finials.
