Description

The Seafront Shelter on De La Warr Parade is an early 20th-century structure, built by 1930. It is made of wood and features glazed panels along with a hipped tiled roof that rests on a concrete base.

The shelter has a rectangular shape and is divided into six compartments. The roof includes small end gablets, some courses of curved tiles, terracotta ridge tiles, and one remaining terracotta end finial. The eaves overhang is supported by ten turned wooden posts, with two posts at each end and three along each side, which hold up the compartment walls. The upper sections of the walls are primarily glazed with multi-pane square glazing, while the lower sections consist of solid wooden panels that include moulded dado rails and a plinth.
