Description
Bethel Baptist Chapel is a Baptist chapel constructed from squared rubble stone in shades of brown and grey, topped with a slate roof and featuring a gabled end facade. The building has arched openings with cut-stone voussoirs, a central door flanked by a broad short window above and two long side windows. The windows have small-paned glazing with radiating bars at the arched heads and marginal glazing bars on the central window and fanlight. The central door is broad and consists of three leaves, with slate sills beneath the windows. Above the central window, there is a small arched slate plaque. The side elevations are roughcast, with two storeys and two windows featuring 12-pane sash designs.
In front of the chapel, there is a splayed area that leads to the street, enclosed by a low rubble wall topped with iron railings, stone gatepiers, and end piers. The entrance features paired iron gates that ramp up to a point at the center.
Inside, there is a three-sided gallery with chamfered angles, a painted panelled front, and timber columns.
