Description
The ornamental fountain and basin at Trawsgoed House is a Grade II listed structure. It features a broad circular basin surrounded by a low terracotta wall with a rope-moulded top. This wall is interrupted by eight short plinths that support large terracotta urns. Surrounding the outside of the basin are eight former flowerbeds, each outlined by a dwarf terracotta border with a rope mould, designed in a segmental shape to create lobes that connect to the main basin. At the center of the fountain is a large cast-iron lower basin with a moulded rim. Rising from this lower basin is an upper part that features a small bowl on a baluster pedestal adorned with lion masks. Above this, three dolphins support a top circular base that holds a figure with a snake.
