Description
The terrace wall and steps at the foot of the lawn to the southwest of Trawsgoed House date from the 19th century. The central flight consists of 11 broad stone steps that align with the garden front of the house. These steps are flanked by arcaded balustrading and have arcaded parapets on each side that return at both ends. At each end or junction, there are corniced piers; the pair at the top of the steps are topped with griffins holding shields, while the piers at the end of the parapet feature dragons, although one dragon is missing. The piers at the foot of the steps and the ends of the short returns on the terrace are adorned with ball finials.
