Description
The Henry Richard Memorial is a bronze statue standing 2.6 meters (8 feet 6 inches) tall, depicting Richard in everyday clothes as he stands to speak, holding a sheaf of papers marked 'PEACE' in one hand and spectacles in the other. The statue is mounted on a granite pedestal that is 2.9 meters (9 feet 6 inches) high, featuring a moulded cornice and plinth. The pedestal is inscribed with the words 'Henry Richard A.S. Ganwyd Ebrill 3 1812 Bu Farw Awst 20 1888'. Additionally, there are two bronze plaques attached to the memorial that detail Richard's achievements, with one plaque in Welsh and the other in English. Surrounding the memorial is a low railing made up of eight ornate iron posts with battered panelled sides and bulbous finials, along with scrolled low cast-iron panels and chains connecting the posts.
