Description

The Penwig Hotel is a detached house built in the 19th century. It features a stucco exterior with a slate hipped roof and lacks chimneys. The building has three stories and a three-window front, characterized by stucco channelled angle strips. The upper windows are original hornless six-pane designs, while the first-floor windows have twelve panes and slate sills.

The ground floor has a central door with an overlight, set within a later 19th-century corniced open timber porch that includes fretwork upper panels and chamfered piers. The door has been replaced with a 20th-century version. Flanking the porch are large 20th-century windows, with casements that include top-lights—four lights on the left side and five lights on the right. Additionally, there is a flat-roofed 20th-century single-storey addition on the north end of the building.
