Old Sail Loft (Drawbridge Warehouse)

The Old Sail Loft, also known as the Drawbridge Warehouse, is a four-storey warehouse and sail loft constructed from local brown stone, with some alterations in red brick, and features a slate roof with a chimney on the right. The ground floor has a central sliding door flanked by casement windows. Above this, the building has three storeys with central loading doors that have been converted into windows, featuring casement glazing and red brick infill. The first and second floors have small windows in the outer bays, with sash glazing on the first floor and casement glazing on the second floor. The top floor has larger tripartite small-pane sashes in the outer bays. The north elevation was supported at the time of inspection. At the rear, there is a single storey that aligns with the rear lane. To the south, there is an attached block that has been significantly altered, along with a taller stone block located at the corner with the rear lane.
