Description
27 Alban Square is a simple classical terrace building from the 19th century, featuring two stories and three-window fronts. The buildings at Nos 27 to 29 have a scribed render finish, while No 30 is roughcast. The structure includes rusticated quoins and end pilaster strips, topped with slate roofs and three cement render chimney stacks. The wide boarded eaves add to its character.
The sash windows, which have glazing bars in Nos 28, 29, and the first floor of No 30, are adorned with lugged architraves and ornamental keystones on the first floor. The ground floor windows are set in segmental arched recesses, with architraves (lugged on No 30) and keystones. The entrance to No 27 features a flat-headed design with a lugged architrave, while Nos 28 to 30 have arched entrances of two orders with panelled architraves and ornamental keystones. No 27 has a modern door, whereas Nos 28 to 30 have three-panel doors with five-pane fanlights.
