Description
28 Alban Square is a simple classical terrace building dating from the 19th century. It is two stories high with three window fronts, scribed to numbers 27 to 29 and roughcast on number 30. The building features rusticated quoins and end pilaster strips, with slate roofs and three cement render chimney stacks. The wide boarded eaves add to its character.
The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are present on numbers 28, 29, and the first floor of number 30. The first-floor windows have lugged architraves with ornamental keystones, while the ground floor windows are set in segmental arched recesses, with architraves (lugged on number 30) and keystones. The entrance to number 27 has a flat head with a lugged architrave, while the entrances to numbers 28 to 30 are arched and feature two orders with panelled architraves and ornamental keystones. Number 27 has a modern door, whereas numbers 28 to 30 have three-panel doors with five-pane fanlights.
