Description

The Black Lion Hotel is a simple classical building from the 19th century, featuring three storeys and a three-window roughcast front. It has rusticated quoins, cill bands, and a plinth. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with wide boarded eaves and two cement render chimney stacks. The first and second floors have 9-pane sash windows with lugged architraves and ornamental keystones. On the ground floor, there are three-light sash windows set in segmental arched recesses, with glazing bars on the upper sash. The central entrance is arched and has a lugged architrave, a six-panel door, and a six-pane fanlight above.
