Description
15 Alban Square is a simple classical terrace building dating from the 19th century. It features two storeys with a symmetrical three-window front, with No 15 being slightly advanced and topped with a hipped roof. The fronts of Nos 15 and 19 are finished in scribed render, while Nos 16 to 18 are roughcast. No 19 has end pilaster strips, and Nos 15 and 18 display rusticated quoins. Cill bands are present on Nos 18 and 19, and all buildings have plinths.
The roofs are slate with wide boarded eaves, and there are rendered and rubble chimney stacks. Nos 15 and 19 have 12-pane sash windows, except for the ground floor of No 15, which has 16-pane windows. Lugged architraves are found on Nos 15, 18, and 19, with keystones on Nos 15 and 18. Nos 16 and 17 feature voussoir lintels. The ground floor windows of Nos 16 to 19 are set in segmental arched recesses, with architraves on Nos 18 and 19.
The entrances to Nos 15, 18, and 19 are arched and consist of two orders, with panelled architraves and keystones on Nos 15 and 18. Nos 16 and 17 have Georgian pedimented doorcases for their arched entrances, complete with panelled reveals. No 15 has a three-panel door, while Nos 16 to 18 have five-pane fanlights, and No 19 features a six-panel door with an Art Nouveau glass fanlight.
