Description

14 Alban Square is a terrace of two-storey buildings featuring simple classical design. The fronts have two windows each, with Nos 10 and 11 finished in cement render, No 12 in scribed render, and No 13 in roughcast. The buildings have end pilaster strips, plinths, and a cill band on No 10, along with slate roofs, wide boarded eaves, and a mix of five rendered and one rubble chimney stacks. The sash windows, which mostly have glazing bars, include 12-pane designs, with Nos 10 and 14 featuring 16-pane ground floor windows. All windows have lugged architraves and keystones, except for No 14. The ground floor windows of Nos 10 and 14 are set within segmental arched recesses, with No 10 having a lugged architrave and keystone, while No 14 has a plain architrave. The ground floor windows of Nos 11 and 12 match those on the first floor. No 13 has a later 19th-century two-storey splayed and gabled bay, adorned with ornamental bargeboards, a finial, and two-light sash glazing, along with panelled decoration between floors and at the base. The entrance features an arched design with two orders, panelled architraves, and keystones; the recessed doors include a six-panel door with a six-pane fanlight for Nos 10 to 12, a three-panel door for No 13, and a six-panel door with a five-pane fanlight for No 14. Iron railings are present at the front of No 14.
