Description
This is a cottage located at Rhyd Farm, built with whitewashed clay walls resting on a stone plinth and topped with a thatched roof covered in corrugated iron, featuring a steep 48-degree pitch. The building is one storey with a loft and has a double front, with a small window on each side of the door. The entrance consists of a plank door, and there are casement windows with timber lintels.
Inside, the cottage has seen little alteration. Notable features include a wicker fireplace hood at the north end, which is mounted on a large beam, a short plank partition just to the right of the door, and a floor beam above the door. The loft floor is located over the center and left sides of the cottage. The roof structure comprises oak tie-beam trusses and double purlins, with gorse underthatch. The interior was reported to be in poor condition in 1995.
