Description

Blaenpant Farm features an extensive farm complex with a court surrounded on three sides by cow-houses, lofted stables, and coach-houses. The buildings are constructed from rubble stone and topped with slate roofs. The south front includes a gable from the west range on the left, which has a blank loft light and a 20th-century ground floor opening. Next to this is a tall elliptical-arched entry with slate coping at the eaves level of the taller south range. This range has five eaves-breaking boarded openings under cat-slide roofs, with the center one serving as a loft door. The ground floor has two small windows on the left and five loops in the center and right.

The east range features a prominent gable that projects to the right, with a door on the ground floor to the left and a boarded loft light. Stone voussoirs are present in the archways. Inside the court, the north side of the south range has five similar boarded loft openings and a central door. To the right on the ground floor, there is a tall arch leading to loft stairs, followed by an arched doorway to the left and six elliptical arched cart entries, all with stone voussoirs.

The west side consists of two stepped ranges of cow-houses, each four bays wide with alternating doors and windows, also featuring stone voussoirs. There is an elliptical arched entry to the yard at the northwest angle, and the rear of the upper range has a similar door, window, window, and door. The east side is tall, with five widely-separated similar sloping roofs over four loft windows and a central door, accessed by a large flight of double stone steps. There is a window, door, and corrugated-iron lean-to on the left, and a series of windows and doors on the right.

The north side has a blank rear of the upper yard building and an elliptical arched entry to the right. The north front of this range features six elliptical-arched entries leading onto the cow-yard. The south and east ranges contain single long lofts supported by collar trusses, stapled collars, and triple purlins. There is a timber-frame and red brick partition to the left of the loft steps in the south range, while the east range's trusses are set on posts built into the walls. A very low broad arch at floor level in the south end of the east range opens into the south range, and the west range has bolted collar trusses.
