Description
Yr Efail is an 18th-century small cottage that is single storey with a loft. It is constructed of rubble stone and is whitewashed, featuring a corrugated iron roof that was formerly thatched. There is a brick chimney stack on the ridge at the original eastern end of the building. The original cottage has a central door with a window on each side, although the windows have 20th-century glazing. An eastern addition includes one window.
Inside, the ground floor features hewn centre beams. The roof is supported by collar trusses with scarfed cruck joints and wavy collar pieces, spanning four bays. The chimney end has a small collar that carries a Y-shaped ridge support. The original staircase has been removed and replaced with a modern stair in the eastern end section.
