Description

Gwaralltyryn is a farmhouse dating from around 1840, constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof and stone end stacks. The building is two stories high and features a four-window range with cambered-headed windows that have stone voussoirs and stone sills. The lower openings include recessed voussoirs and raised keystones. The original sash windows have all been replaced with plastic. At the rear, there is an outshut.

To the right of the house is a lower service range with an end stack, a door on the left, and a window on each floor to the right, also featuring stone voussoirs. Further along, at a lower level due to the slope of the ground, is a late 19th-century lofted outbuilding with four brick-headed doors and one small loft window.

Inside the house, there is a massive stone arched kitchen fireplace. Attached at the left end of the house, at right angles, is a late 19th-century lofted cartshed. This structure has a broad yellow-brick elliptical-arched cart entry, a door, and a window, all with yellow-brick heads, plus a small loft window in the center above. Stone steps on the end wall lead to a loft door, which features dove holes in the gable.

The house is enclosed by a rubble forecourt wall with low wire railings and a gate situated between split stone gate piers.
