Old Farmhouse at Pwllfein Farm

The Old Farmhouse at Pwllfein Farm is a 19th-century farmhouse constructed from rubble stone, with the front whitewashed and featuring a slate roof and stone end stacks. It has a 2-storey, double-fronted elevation that includes 12-pane sash windows on either side of a centrally located door, which is slightly offset to accommodate a deeper chimney wall on the left. The farmhouse has heavy quoins at the front corners. The upper windows are smaller and positioned under the eaves, while the lower windows feature cut-stone voussoirs above their cambered heads. The door is topped with a single stone lintel and has split slate sills.

At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut covered by a corrugated iron roof, which includes a cambered-headed doorway to the east, along with a door and window at the rear. Inside, the layout features a central lobby with boarded partitions and a dog-leg staircase leading to the first floor, which has a 6-panel door. The landing wall is boarded instead of being made of masonry. The first floor consists of one large room that does not have a fireplace and features a collar-truss double-purlin roof, with pegged joints and roughly squared timbers.
