Description
The outbuildings and mill wheel at Pantmoch are an early to mid 19th century farm and mill group, designed in an L-plan layout using rubble stone, with the farm range whitewashed and featuring slate roofs. The structure consists of a two-storey farm range and a tall three-and-a-half storey mill that is built at right angles and positioned on a slope.
The farm range includes a broad altered opening with an enlarged loft entry above, a ground floor window to the right, and stone steps leading to a loft door located at the angle of the mill. To the left of the main entry, there is a small rectangular opening on the ground floor. Further left, there is a slightly lower section that features an elliptical arched former cart entry with cut stone voussoirs and a loft window situated under the eaves. Additionally, there is a ground floor window to the left with rough stone voussoirs.
The mill building is two-storey on the east return and has large cambered arched openings on each floor, complete with cut-stone voussoirs and double doors. The north gable end features a central basement door with a single stone lintel, a first floor door set to the left with stone voussoirs, and a second floor central door with a single stone lintel, along with an attic window that has four panes. The west side of the mill includes a central second floor window, a corrugated iron lean-to, and at the southwest angle, there is a large iron overshot waterwheel made by T Thomas of Cardigan.
