Description
Pantydefaid, including the Lower Range to the right, is a farmhouse that dates back to 1700. It features a rendered exterior covered with creeper and has large rendered end stacks along with a slate roof. The building is two-and-a-half storeys tall and has a three-window range consisting of renewed four-pane sash windows and three gabled dormers, also with four-pane sashes. The central entrance is a 19th-century six-panel door with an overlight above it. The stone voussoirs above the door are left exposed and each bears a single letter, spelling out 'JOHN JONES 1700'.
To the right of the main house is a lower service range made of rubble, which dates from the 19th century. This range has two windows with brick door and window heads, and a brick stack at the eastern end. It features small twelve-pane sashes above, with a door and a renewed four-pane sash window below.
The main house has a northeast rendered rear wing, which is a later 19th-century addition with a yellow brick stack. It has a central stair gable, which may be from the 18th century, and includes rubble with a 19th-century four-pane sash window and a yellow brick head, along with an outshut to the left.
The interior has not been inspected.
