Description
Cribor Fawr is a two-storey building located in Cwm Clettwr Fawr, constructed from cement-washed rubble stone with a slate roof and stone end stacks. The building features a four-window range with camber-headed windows that have 12-pane uPVC frames, which were formerly 4-pane sashes. The windows have slate sills, and there is a door in the second bay from the left. The eaves are supported by paired brackets. The lower openings are adorned with recessed voussoirs and raised keystones, while the upper openings have plain cambered heads. Above the door, there is a plaque that reads 'Built by DT 1841'. The right end wall has a door leading into the kitchen.
At the left end of the building, there is a lower lofted cartshed featuring rough stone voussoirs that form an elliptical-arched cart entry. To the left of this entry, there is a small opening, and above it, a central loft window. Stone steps are located at the end wall, positioned between the end wall and a range of outbuildings that are set at right angles. The lofted area is accessible by these steps, and there is a taller two-bay range to the left. In front of the house, there is a rubble garden wall with dwarf iron rails and stone piers.
Beneath the current grey wash, there are traces of previous pink and ochre colours.
