Description

Turnpike Cottage is an 18th-century cottage, significantly rebuilt in the 20th century. It is constructed of rubble walls, with a stone slate roof and stone gable coping. A 20th-century brick stack is located at the gable end. The cottage has one storey and an attic, with a window in the gable. It has a three-window front, featuring renewed cills and renewed wooden casement windows. The interior includes collar-beam trusses and shallow-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. A remaining plank partition, an 18th-century brick fireplace, and tie beams are also present.
