Description

St Francis Cottage is a 18th-century cottage located in Thorncombe. It features rubble walls with some brick quoins and a thatched roof, along with a 20th-century brick stack. The building is 1½ storeys tall and has a three-window range with wooden casements that have original lintels and replaced wood cills. The entrance includes a plank door with a thatched hood, supported by a 20th-century wood frame. A rubble and brick buttress is present on the front wall. Inside, there is a deep-chamfered ceiling beam and an open fireplace with a high wooden lintel.
