Description
Tan-yr-Allt is a cottage featuring cob walls faced with whitewashed rubble stone and a corrugated iron roof over thatch. It has a painted brick chimney stack on the right side. The front includes two 9-pane pivot windows with timber lintels and stone sills, and a central 20th-century door set in an enlarged doorway. There are small 20th-century whitewashed extensions on both the left and right sides, as well as a small window at the rear.
The original cottage has whitewashed rendered cob walls supported by four oak posts on each long side at the ground floor level. The ceiling features three irregularly spaced transverse beams, with the center beam being a 20th-century replacement. The lateral beams are laid flat in the southern section, and the floor is made of floorboards. A later 19th-century brick chimney breast is located at the northern end, with a bread oven to the left. There are two 20th-century wooden staircases positioned in opposite corners. The first floor contains four oak collar trusses that are scarfed to the corresponding four ground floor posts.
