Description

5 Barley Mow is a warehouse built in exposed rubble stone, which was previously colourwashed. It features a hipped slate roof and a central hoist gable. The building is three storeys high and has a three-window range, with loading doors located in the centre bay. The windows are modern casement pairs, each with stone voussoirs above their cambered heads. The ground floor has a door, and there are outside steps leading to a first-floor door, while the second-floor door is set under a recessed pointed arch; the hoist wheel was removed in 1992. The end wall includes a basement and has a two-window range over three storeys. The rear of the building also has a three-window arrangement in rubble stone.
