Description
No 2 Richmond House is a large, three-storey stucco villa built in the 19th century. It features a five-window arrangement in a 1-3-1 layout, topped with a slate hipped roof and three stuccoed chimney stacks. The central section of the villa is slightly advanced and also has a hipped roof. Each part of the building is accented with rusticated quoins, moulded string courses, and a moulded eaves cornice. The windows are four-pane sashes, each with moulded labels, keystones, and slate sills. The central window is positioned between two six-panel doors that have overlights, all framed in tall stucco doorcases with console brackets supporting the cornices. The overlights are notably deep.
The end elevations each have two windows, and the rear features a large gable made of rubble stone, with a stuccoed gable and an end chimney stack. The villa is set on a high rubble stone terrace, which is complemented by intersected wire railing dating from around 1900.
