Lower Leighton Farm is a two-storey, four-unit farmhouse with a rear wing. The building features a timber frame, with large square panels on the lower storey and smaller rectangular panels on the upper storey, both filled with render, and has random rubble gable walls. The roof is slate, with brick stacks located to the right of the center and to the left. The centrally-placed gabled porch is rendered and includes a panelled door with an infilled overlight and round-headed windows on the side walls. To the left, there is a boarded door. The lower storey has large two-light casements with margin glazing, while the upper storey has smaller two-light casements positioned below the wall plate. Behind the left unit, there is a lower two-storey wing that features two-light casements in the upper storey and replaced windows in the lower storey.
