Description
1-storey and attic, rubble stone front with some later alterations; slightly lower range off axis to left; 3 irregularly-spaced windows. Slate roofs (replacing original stone tiles), central rubble stack heightened in brick supported by an approximately 5ft wide cross-wall which projects to rear; varied roof pitches - steepest to centre, continuous ridge to right with flatter pitch front and steeper pitch to rear. Single flat-roofed dormer to centre front and 2 to rear pitch. Pitched roof dormers to right, front and rear pitches.
Originally a 'lobby entry' house. Blocked door and small lobby beside stack with stairs opposite and hall to right. Main entrance now in left extension and another boarded door is under pitched roof porch to right leading to part of the house now disused and in poor condition. Rubble gable and wall to left; timber studded right gable end wall with adjoining later 2 bay corrugated iron roof barn, wattle and daub retained and carpenters marks visible.
Once part of the Gwernaffed estate.
Interior retains feather-stop chamfer beam to ground floor right room, with rougher beams to rest of the house.
