Description

The Old Rectory is a two-storey building with an attic and two rear wings, constructed from coursed stone rubble and topped with a slate roof featuring crested ridge tiles. It has two end stacks with rendered brick upper sections and a chevron oversailing course. The symmetrical garden front displays a tile-hung upper storey that rises to a central dormer in a cross gable, complete with projecting bargeboards, a finial, and a pendant. On either side of the central front door, which is supported by tapering wooden posts with scroll brackets, are two-storey early 20th-century bay windows with pantile roofs. The rear wings consist of one in stone rubble and the other tile-hung, both featuring projecting bargeboards, a pendant, and a finial.

To the north, there is a late 19th-century rubble extension that includes a louvred opening in the gable upper section and a shuttered opening in the roadside wall. Another rubble extension with a hipped roof and modern casements is located to the south, alongside a small rubble block with a pitched roof that also has a shuttered opening facing the roadside. Additionally, there is a detached stable or traphouse with a loft above, which is connected to a pigsty and a fuel store. This structure is built from coursed rubble and has a slate roof with crested ridge tiles, and it backs onto the road. The interior has not been inspected.
