Description

Nant-y-Groes is a two-and-a-half storey house with a cellar, accompanied by a two-storey, gable-ended range of 1938, all finished with roughcast render. A two-storey brick wing extends to the rear, along with a lean-to. Further rear additions include a brick lean-to to the kitchen, under a catslide roof. The roofs are slate-covered. A modern stone stack is present on the left side, alongside a brick stack with oversailing courses and two flues on the right. Three gable dormers, featuring bargeboards, pendants, and sixteen-pane sashes, are positioned to the left of centre. Other windows are three-light sashes, with a plain sash on the centre of the first floor and a bay window beneath a flat lead roof on the ground floor to the left.

A modern conservatory porch, covered by a slate roof, provides entrance via a half-glazed front door. The adjoining right-hand range features modern casement windows and a glazed door.

Inside, the house retains a fine, turned baluster staircase dating from the early 19th century. There is also good original woodwork detailing around the windows and doors. The ground floor rooms are characterised by chamfered beams and high ceilings.
