Description
The outbuildings to the northeast of Upper Litton consist of an L-shaped range that includes cowsheds, a granary, a barn, and pigsties.
The cowsheds feature stone rubble end walls and a plinth, with a weatherboarded loft that is partially missing. They have a tin roof and a cobble floor, with sawn ceiling joists covered by planks. A rear feeding passage is accessible from the front entrance, and there is plank stalling inside. The structure includes bolted king-post trusses, and the feed store is located in the south end bay, which has external stone steps leading to the granary loft above.
The barn is a three-bay structure that is timber-framed and weatherboarded, sitting on a stone plinth with a tin roof. It also features bolted king-post trusses and has a central threshing bay flanked by well-built low planked partitions.
A double pigsty has been added to the barn, constructed from stone rubble with a weatherboarded front and a tin roof.
