Description
Upper Litton Farmhouse is a two-storey building constructed from coursed rubble stone, which is limewashed, and rendered on the south side. It has a slate roof and features a flush brick end stack on the north side, along with a massive projecting stone stack at the south end that has two offsets. The garden front has three windows, which are adorned with stone voussoirs and wooden casements that include a centre opening light and chamfered mullions. There is a gabled stone porch with an open arch, single light windows, bargeboards, and a pendant. The east elevation, which faces the farm, is simpler and has smaller two-light casements arranged randomly. The doors are framed planks.
The farmhouse retains its original layout and many features, although the fireplaces have been blocked. Inside, there are four-panel doors with looped spring door catches, beaded boxed beams, and bedroom fireplace surrounds that have moulded recessed panels.
