Description
The outbuildings located to the north and west of Upper Litton include a one-and-a-half storey stone stable situated immediately north of the farmhouse. This stable features part weatherboarding and a slate roof. It has a stone voussoir arch for both the door and window, which includes an external shutter. Inside, there is a cobble floor, a central partition, and one end of the stable is used as cowsheds. The harness room boasts an elaborate wooden fireplace mantle with carved brackets and a panelled frieze, which may have been repurposed from the farmhouse as a shelf.
Additionally, there is a privy located at the rear of the garden, built over a stream. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a sloping tin roof and features a single hole wooden seating.
The cartshed consists of two bays, made of stone rubble and open at the front, supported by timber posts set on concrete plinths, topped with a tin roof. There is also a breeze block fronted stable with a weatherboarded loft adjoining at the north end.
