Description

The Old Fire Station is a tall and narrow building made of coursed rubble, featuring a gable end facing the street. It has been in use as a fire station since at least 1901, as indicated on the Ordnance Survey map, and it was likely converted from an earlier 19th-century agricultural building. The building has a slate roof with plain bargeboards and wide eaves. The gable is roughcast, while the upper part of the front is covered with weatherboarding, which includes one 2-light window. Below, there are double boarded doors, with a letterbox set into the wall to the left. On the right side, there is a 2-pane window. The structure narrows towards the rear and slightly turns east, featuring cambered heads on the door and window openings.
