Gwernaffel Farmhouse

Gwernaffel Farmhouse is a long two-storey building with a single pile range. An extension at the east end features a small side wing beneath a catslide roof. The exterior is made of coursed rubble, which has been painted over, and it has a slate roof. There is a projecting stone stack with an offset at the rear of the 19th-century extension, as well as a tall brick stack at the rear of the main building.

The farmhouse has three windows on the front, with casements beneath cambered brick heads on the ground floor and flat brick heads on the first floor. A central half-glazed door is located under a gable and is sheltered by a slate hood supported by plain brackets. To the right of the door, there is a tall, leaded, cross window from the 19th century. The east gable features a half-glazed door and three casements beneath brick cambered heads.

Inside, the building has been remodelled, but six heavy, wide chamfered beams remain along the former bay divisions, complete with broach stops and stepped run-out stops. At the west end, there is a dairy room that retains its original stone shelving.
