Description
Pen Graig Barn is a timber-framed barn built on a stone plinth, with part of its exterior weatherboarded and a slate roof. It features a central open bay on each long side. The north elevation has open framing on the left-hand bays, while there is an enclosed store room to the west. The gable ends are boarded.
The barn consists of five bays, with open trusses resting on timber sill-beams. These support central posts that rise to tie-beams, which are then connected to arch braces that extend to the wall posts. The construction includes pegged mortice and tenon joints, marked by carpenter's marks. The roof is a queen strut gabled design. The floor is made up of some stone slabs and cobbles, and the western end is enclosed.
