Description
Upper Llangoed Farmhouse is a two-storey farmhouse dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of colourwashed stone and features a slate roof. The building has three bays on the front elevation, with a four-bay rear wing on the left (south side) and a one-bay gabled rear wing on the north side. The symmetrical elevation facing the road includes a central half-glazed door with an overlight. The ground floor has twenty-paned sash windows, while the first floor has 16-paned sash windows, except for a replaced window on the left, all set deeply in segmental headed openings. The farmhouse has gable stacks and small-pane gable end windows, along with brick dentilled eaves. The northern rear wing features 20-pane sashes and a semicircular opening. The southern wing contains two boarded doors, 6-paned windows, and four louvred vents for attic storage under the eaves. The interior was not accessible during the inspection in May 1995. This farmhouse is included for being a well-preserved example of early 19th-century architecture.
