Description

The Bier House at the Church of St Cynog is a single-storey structure built in the Decorated Gothic style to complement the church. It is made of grey snecked and squared sandstone rubble with limestone dressings. The roof is covered with later corrugated material and features crested ridge tiles.

The building has doors on the east and west elevations, with the east door offset to the left and the west door centered, both topped with shouldered arched lintels. The south elevation includes two cusped lancet windows that are very squat and compressed, almost triangular in shape, and were originally fitted with small pane leaded glazing. The north elevation is blind.

Inside, the Bier House has a plain interior with two simple strut framed roof trusses.
