Description
Toll Cottage at Boughrood Bridge is a two-storey building constructed from coursed rubble and topped with a slate roof. The upper storey is at the level of the bridge. The lower floor features a living room accessed through a kitchen, which includes a fireplace on the back wall and a staircase leading to the upper room. The upper room has an open fronted lobby facing the road and an inner room; the lobby is now enclosed with a simple door to the road. The cottage has small round-headed windows, with three on the southwest elevation and two in the smaller rooms, as well as a window from the lobby overlooking the approaching road. There is a stack on the rear wall, and the building has wide eaves with a boarded soffit and bargeboards.
