Description
Bryn Idris is a two-storey, double-fronted cottage built from whitened rubble stone and topped with a slate roof featuring coursed end stacks. The openings of the cottage have segmental heads. The windows are late 19th century, consisting of 2-light casements, although the lower left window has been replaced. The central doorway features a door with glazed panels. On the right side, there is an added lean-to with a 2-light window and a corrugated iron roof. To the left, there is a monopitched projection, which is shown in an 1870 illustration, that has a modern door facing the front of the house. At the rear, there is a small fixed light located in the centre beneath the eaves.
The interior was not inspected during the survey, but it is reported to have a two-up-two-down layout, with a cooking range and quarter-turn stairs positioned against the rear wall in the right-hand room.
