Description

Hillside is a 2-storey, single-fronted cottage constructed of rubble stone, featuring a slate roof and a partially rebuilt stone stack on the right side. At the back, there is an outshut with a catslide roof. The front of the cottage has a doorway on the left, which has a stone segmental head and a late 19th-century boarded door. The windows are positioned to the right and consist of small-pane horizontal sliding sashes with stone sills. The lower storey windows have stone segmental heads, while the upper storey windows have late 19th-century brick heads. On the right gable end, there is a horizontally-sliding sash window for the attic of the outshut, which is set under a concrete lintel.

There is an extension added to the right side of the house, set well back. The rear features a 2-light casement window beneath a stone lintel, with an added brick wash house on the right side.

Inside, the lower storey comprises a single room with straight stairs at the rear, along with a single room in the outshut. The partition between the main room and the outshut is a thick stone wall.
