Description
Henblas Lodge is a two-and-a-half-storey cottage built of rubble stone, topped with a steep slate roof that features coped gables on moulded kneelers and a rendered stack to the right of the center. The front of the building has two windows, with 19th-century openings that include stone lintels in the lower storey and beneath the eaves in the upper storey. The doorway on the right has a half-lit door, with a two-light casement window above it. On the left side, there are four-pane horned sash windows. The left gable end features a four-pane sash window in the lower storey, which is set under a 19th-century lintel, although part of the dressed surround of the original mullioned window it replaced remains. To the right of this window is a blocked former doorway with a Tudor-headed stone lintel, which was the original entrance to the house. In the upper storey, there is a three-light mullioned and transomed window with a hood, above which is a blocked two-light mullioned window in the attic. The right gable end has a three-light wooden casement window under a stone lintel. At the rear, there is an added outshut with a swept roof, and a projection on the left side of the house that includes a boarded door and overlight.
Inside, the lower storey is divided into two rooms, with the doorway leading into the outer room. The hall retains two cross beams with stepped stops. The upper storey is said to have an ovolo-moulded fireplace with a corbelled mantel.
